PLEASE READ

*   AlphaPC 164 motherboard (not SX or LX) requires modified ATX power supply. The SX and LX boards will work with most good-quality, standard ATX power supplies.

**  This CPU is manufactured by Samsung under license from Digital (DEC).

*** AlphaPC 164SX Motherboard has settings for 400MHz and 533MHz only; either underclock to 400MHz or overclock to 533MHz (at your own risk).

Note: DEC included the thermal kit (which is required to run the CPU, and includes heatsink, fan w/sensor, GRAFOIL pad, mounting nuts, and clip) with motherboards, not CPUs. All bundles that we sell include this kit. We now offer the thermal kit as a separate product for those needing it.

Other: All motherboards listed here are ATX form-factor and will fit in ATX cases. Memory is commodity (ie, not Alpha-specific), but high performance boards like these won't tolerate sub-standard memory. PC100 memory is not required, but may offer higher quality. Before you buy memory, make sure you can return/exchange it if it doesn't work. There is NO GUARANTEE that memory which works in a non-Alpha system will work in an Alpha-based system.
